Open Access and Licensing

Ingeniería Solidaria promotes free and immediate knowledge through the Diamond Open Access model. All content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication without restrictions.

Publication Costs ($0 APC)

Article submission, evaluation, copyediting, layout, and publication carry no financial cost for authors ($0 APC). The journal is fully funded by Ediciones UCC.

Frequency and Modality

The journal operates under a continuous publication model compiled into an annual volume, with three partial issue closures (January, May, and September). Special issues may be published under specific calls for papers.

Digital Preservation

Ediciones UCC guarantees the long-term preservation of all published content through LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN).

Content Use and Self-archiving

Authors may self-archive the final publisher's version in institutional or thematic repositories, recommending always linking to the article's official DOI to ensure proper citation.

Manuscript Submissions

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the OJS platform along with the required institutional forms. For technical layout guidelines, template formats, and IEEE rules, please refer to the Submissions / Author Guidelines section.

Ethics and Scientific Integrity

The journal and its editorial team promote ethics in research processes and the quality of published works. The journal strictly follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for preventing and resolving misconduct.

Anti-plagiarism Policy and Similarity Detection

Plagiarism in any form (unattributed reproduction, unreferenced paraphrasing, self-plagiarism, or undeclared reuse of prior work) constitutes serious misconduct. All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin prior to peer review. Manuscripts with a similarity index equal to or exceeding 20% (excluding bibliography) will be rejected. For published articles, COPE guidelines will be applied for corrections or retractions.

Declaration of Conflicts of Interest

Following COPE and ICMJE recommendations, authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any financial or non-financial conflict of interest (employment, commercial, personal, or institutional) that could compromise impartial judgment of the manuscript. Authors must include this statement in the article template upon submission.

Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

AI tools do not meet authorship criteria. Authors must complete the Ediciones UCC Creative Honesty Declaration Form reporting its use in the methodology. AI-generated content verified in Turnitin must not exceed 30%.

Originality and Exclusivity

Articles must be strictly unpublished and not undergoing simultaneous review elsewhere. Partial submissions and unauthorized translations are not accepted.

Reporting Cases and Retractions

If there are concerns regarding scientific rigor, data manipulation, or authorship disputes, please contact the editor immediately. Notifications will be handled with strict confidentiality, and retractions or errata will be issued according to COPE protocols.

Peer Review System

All articles passing initial editorial screening undergo evaluation by expert reviewers under a double-blind peer review system, ensuring mutual anonymity between authors and reviewers.

Reviewer Profile and Commitment

Reviewers must hold a Master's or Ph.D. degree, have active publications in the field, and be external to the publishing institution. Reviewer participation is ad honorem and confidential, providing rigorous and constructive feedback to validate scientific quality.

Editorial Evaluation and Timeline

Upon acknowledgement of receipt, the editor conducts a preliminary screening for relevance and formatting. If accepted for review, peer review takes an average of 30 calendar days. In case of conflicting reviewer opinions, a third reviewer will be appointed.

Decisions and Revisions

Possible decisions are: Accept without revisions, Accept with minor revisions, Revisions required (major changes), or Reject. Authors will have agreed deadlines to submit revised versions accompanied by a response letter to reviewers.

Editorial Production

Accepted articles proceed to professional production (copyediting, layout, and page proofs). Authors must review final proofs within the established deadlines to prevent publication delays.

The opinions expressed in articles are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not reflect the views of Ediciones UCC or Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia. The journal reserves the right to decline publication if a manuscript violates its policies.
