Análisis jurídico de la aplicabilidad del convenio de seguridad social firmado por Colombia y España
Este artículo busca analizar la efectividad del convenio de seguridad social firmado entre Colombia y España, mediante la revisión de los esquemas de protección jurídicos que se encuentran en uno y otro país, a fin de establecer el nivel de garantía del derecho universal a la seguridad social de la población migrante. Para ello, se utilizó el método de investigación cualitativo, a través del análisis de la normativa y la jurisprudencia de ambos países. Esto condujo a establecer en los resultados que las demoras excesivas en los reconocimientos de prestaciones económicas por parte de Colombia impiden alcanzar los objetivos del convenio, asociado a la poca información con que cuenta el migrante español o el ciudadano colombiano que cotizó en España y que podría estar afectando el acceso al derecho a una pensión de vejez.
