Purpose and Scope

The Revista Nacional de Odontología is an academic publication whose purpose is to disseminate research, reflection, and review articles, as well as clinical case reports related to dentistry. Its target audience includes researchers, research groups, professors, and dental students in Colombia and other countries.

"Background"
The Revista Nacional de Odontología was created in 2005 to address the need to publish research articles in dentistry and related fields. In 2013, its digital version was launched. Both versions aim to maintain the biannual publication frequency, which continues to this day.

Open Access Policy
All journal content is published in open access under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). NOTE: The journal replaced its CC BY-NC-ND license with the CC BY license in 2019, with the publication of volume 15, issue 28.
Periodicity
The Revista Nacional de Odontología is published twice a year, in June and December. The journal may also publish special thematic issues at the initiative of the editor, committee members, or external collaborators. These may appear in an extraordinary (additional) issue within the volume (the conditions or particularities of special editions will be announced through a specific Call for Papers).
Publication Costs
Neither the submission of articles nor the editorial process—if the manuscript is approved—incurs any cost for authors, as the journal is fully funded by Ediciones UCC.
Conflict of Interest
Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest.
Ethics
The journal and its editorial team promote ethics in research processes, appropriate use of copyrighted content, and the quality of published work. Editors, authors, and reviewers interact according to principles of academic integrity.

Potential plagiarism is prevented through the use of TURNITIN.
