• Purpose and Scope

    Ingeniería Solidaria is a scientific journal whose objective is to communicate the results of applied, sustainable research with a social vocation in the different areas of engineering. It is aimed at researchers, research groups, professors, and students who seek to generate knowledge at a global level.

    "Trajectory"
    The journal began publication in 2005 with a semiannual frequency, and in January 2017 it changed its frequency to a four-month periodicity. In May of the same year, Ingeniería Solidaria became a digital publication.
    "Preservation"
    Ingeniería Solidaria uses LOCKSS and PKP PN to preserve its digital content. LOCKSS enables local backup copies, and PKP PN provides a stable platform for the management and preservation of content, ensuring long-term accessibility.
    Mission
    Ingeniería Solidaria is an electronic, international, continuous-publication, open-access scientific journal aimed at communicating articles of applied and sustainable research with social vocation, based on original works that cover all areas of engineering and technology. It receives submissions in English, subject to a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Publication generates no cost for authors.
    Vision
    To achieve by 2022 recognition from the international scientific community as a medium for communicating applicable and sustainable research results with social vocation. To be positioned in recognized indexes such as Scopus and Web of Science (WoS), as well as regional indexes such as Redalyc and SciELO.

    Periodicity
    The journal began publication in 2005 with a semiannual frequency, and in January 2017 it changed its frequency to a four-month periodicity. In May of the same year, Ingeniería Solidaria became a digital publication. It is currently published three times a year (January, May, September).
    Publication Costs
    Both the submission of articles and the editorial process, if approved, are free of charge for authors, as the journal is fully funded by Ediciones UCC.
    Open Access Policy
    The journal publishes its content in open access, without any embargo period. Likewise, all published works appear under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0), and their use must adhere to these licensing conditions. Authors of articles submitted for publication must complete the copyright transfer form. With this, the text is not only covered by the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0), but authors also authorize the article to be translated and published in any languages deemed appropriate for increasing its visibility and impact. NOTE: The journal changed its CC BY-NC-ND license to CC BY in 2019, beginning with volume 15, issue 1.
    Ethics
    The journal and its editorial team promote, through their policies and actions, ethics in research processes, the appropriate use of copyrighted content, and the quality of published works, ensuring that the various contributors (editors, authors, and reviewers) interact under principles of academic integrity. The journal follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for addressing misconduct in academic publishing.
    Plagiarism
    As an anti-plagiarism measure, this journal uses TURNITIN, a tool for mitigating the risk of academic and professional plagiarism.
