Open Access and Licensing

Cooperativismo & Desarrollo promotes free and immediate access to knowledge through the Diamond Open Access model. All content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication without restrictions.

Publication Costs ($0 APC)

Article submission and the editorial process are free of charge; authors incur no costs at any stage. The journal is fully funded by Ediciones UCC.

Frequency and Publication Model

The journal operates under a continuous publication model, accumulated into an annual volume, with three partial issue closures or publication periods (January, May, and September). Special issues may be published through specific calls for papers.

Digital Preservation

Ediciones UCC guarantees the long-term preservation of all published content through the use of LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN).

Content Use and Self-Archiving

Authors may self-archive the final publisher's version in institutional or thematic repositories. Authors are encouraged to always include the article's official DOI link to ensure proper citation.

Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the OJS platform together with the required institutional forms. For technical layout instructions, template format, and APA standards, please refer to the Submissions / Author Guidelines section.

Ethics and Scientific Integrity

The journal and its editorial team promote ethical practices in research processes and the quality of published works. The journal strictly follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for the prevention and resolution of misconduct.

Anti-Plagiarism Policy and Similarity Detection

Plagiarism in any of its forms (reproduction without attribution, unreferenced paraphrasing, self-plagiarism, or undisclosed reuse of previous works) constitutes serious misconduct. All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin before peer review. Articles with a similarity index equal to or greater than 20% (excluding bibliography) will be rejected. For published works, COPE guidelines will be applied for correction or retraction.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Following COPE and ICMJE recommendations, authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflict of interest (employment, commercial, personal, or institutional) that may compromise impartial judgment of the manuscript. Authors must include this statement in the template at the time of submission.

Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

AI tools do not meet authorship criteria. Authors are required to complete the Ediciones UCC Creative Honesty Form declaring their use in the methodology. The percentage of AI-generated content verified by Turnitin must not exceed 30%.

Originality and Exclusivity

Articles must be strictly unpublished and must not be simultaneously submitted to other publications. Partial submissions or translations without prior authorization from the editor are not accepted.

Reporting Cases and Retractions

Concerns regarding scientific rigor, data manipulation, or authorship disputes should be reported to the editor. Notifications will be handled with strict confidentiality, and retractions or corrections will be issued in accordance with COPE protocols.

Peer Review System

All articles that pass the initial editorial screening are submitted to expert peer review under a double-blind peer review system, ensuring anonymity between authors and reviewers.

Reviewer Profile and Commitment

Reviewers must hold a master's or doctoral degree, have active publications in the field, and be external to the publishing institution. Their participation is ad honorem and confidential, providing rigorous and constructive assessments to validate the scientific quality of the manuscript.

Editorial Evaluation and Timelines

Following notification of receipt, the editor conducts a preliminary review of relevance and format. If the manuscript is accepted for peer review, the review process takes an average of 30 calendar days. In the event of conflicting reviewer assessments, a third reviewer will be invited.

Decisions and Revisions

Possible decisions are: Accepted without revisions, Accepted with minor revisions, Accepted with substantial revisions (revise and resubmit), or Rejected. Authors will be given agreed deadlines to submit the revised version together with a response letter to the reviewers.

Editorial Production

Accepted texts proceed to professional production (copyediting, typesetting, and proofing). Authors must review the final proofs within the established deadlines to avoid publication delays.

The opinions expressed in the articles are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not represent the position of Ediciones UCC or Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia. The journal reserves the right to decline publication if the manuscript violates its policies.
