• Originality

    All articles or reviews submitted to the peer review process of Cooperativismo & Desarrollo must be unpublished, original, and the authors’ own work. Authors are requested to refrain from submitting works that have been partially or fully published elsewhere —except for online working papers— or translations into other languages. If evidence of similar or identical documents already published is found, the work will be automatically rejected.

    Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence
    As part of the commitment to academic integrity and transparency in scientific production, all authors must complete the UCC Scientific Journals Creative Honesty Declaration Form. This document must explicitly report the use of generative Artificial Intelligence tools in the preparation of the manuscript, specifying the type of tools used and detailing how they contributed to the development of the article. The percentage of content generated by AI will be verified through Turnitin and must not exceed 30%. Failure to comply with this guideline may result in manuscript rejection.
    Types of Articles
    According to the academic quality requirements for indexing Colombian journals (National Bibliographic Index – Publindex), Cooperativismo & Desarrollo mainly seeks the publication of the following types of articles:
    Scientific and Technological Research Article
    Document presenting in detail the original results of completed research projects.
    Reflection Article Derived from Research
    Document presenting results from already completed research published in other academic journals from an analytical, interpretative, or critical perspective of the author of the reflection article, on a specific topic using original sources.
    Review Article
    Document resulting from completed research that analyzes, systematizes, or integrates the results of published research in a scientific or technological field to account for advances and development trends. Characterized by a thorough literature review of at least 50 references.
    Reviews
    Cooperativismo & Desarrollo will accept critical reviews of monographs, articles, research books, and scientific dissemination texts in education that may interest the journal’s readers. The journal will have a space for articles or essays selected from competitions or national academic events in which the journal participates.
    Languages
    Cooperativismo & Desarrollo will publish full articles originally written in Spanish, English, or Portuguese.
    Article Structure
    The basic structure of an article includes: title, abstract, keywords, main text (which may vary depending on the type of article and the author’s intent), and reference list. Details authors should consider when preparing their article for Cooperativismo & Desarrollo are described more extensively in a template developed for this purpose.
    Purpose and Coherence
    All articles submitted to Cooperativismo & Desarrollo are expected to have an explicit purpose and contribute to the interest of the journal’s readership. Furthermore, regardless of the structure the author chooses for organizing their article (review or essay), texts should follow a coherent framework with three essential elements: introduction, developed body, and conclusion.
    Length
    Articles are suggested to have a minimum of 6,000 words and a maximum of 8,000 words. Critical reviews should not exceed 1,500 words.
    Thesauri
    The journal suggests using the following thesauri for incorporating keywords: UNESCO Thesaurus and EconLit.

    Authors

    Authors participating in the journal are expected to submit original texts, their own creation, derived from rigorous research processes, not previously published, properly citing bibliographic sources and other copyrighted material. Texts must also be carefully written and comply with the formatting and citation requirements of the journal’s style.

    Reviewer Profile
    Reviewers for Cooperativismo & Desarrollo must have at least a master’s degree and published written work in the area they are invited to evaluate.
    Confidentiality
    As peer review is conducted under a “double-blind” system to ensure independence of the parties (neither authors nor reviewers know each other’s identities, academic profile, or affiliation), this information is only handled by the journal staff and will not be disclosed to third parties. All documentation from the peer review process will be preserved for indexing or verification purposes.
    Peer Review System
    All articles submitted to the journal will undergo a “double-blind” peer review with the help of experts in each field. Reviewer participation is voluntary and seen as an academic reciprocity pact to constructively strengthen and validate colleagues’ research. Reviews of dissemination documents may be conducted by the editor or other editorial team members, and publication depends on thematic and textual coherence, relevance, and interest.
    Reviewers
    Reviewers are expected to provide thorough, constructive feedback, not only recommending approval or rejection but helping authors improve their work and reflect on its scope or shortcomings. Texts are considered unpublished; any unauthorized use is a serious ethical violation. Evaluation responsibility cannot be transferred, and conflicts of interest must be reported.

    Exclusivity

    Articles submitted to Cooperativismo & Desarrollo cannot be under review by other journals or simultaneously submitted elsewhere.

    Ethics
    The journal and its editorial team foster ethics in research processes, proper use of copyrighted materials, and quality of published work, ensuring collaboration under principles of academic integrity.
    Reporting Cases
    If there is evidence of ethical issues in submitted research, questions about scientific rigor, data manipulation, conflicts of interest, previous publication (“self-plagiarism”), authorship, or plagiarism, please contact the journal editor immediately. Notifications will be handled with complete confidentiality.
    Retractions, Corrections, and Conflict Resolution
    The journal follows COPE guidelines for handling inappropriate conduct in academic publishing. Retractions or corrections will be made for articles with errors affecting scientific quality or proper authorship recognition.

    Open Access

    The journal publishes content in open access without embargo. All works are under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), and use must comply with this licensing.

    Digital Preservation of Content
    The Editorial Fund will ensure the digital preservation of published content so that authors can always retrieve their articles and maintain access to the history and evolution of the journal.
    Use of Content and Self-Archiving
    Authors may self-archive their work in institutional repositories in the final (or publisher’s) version, ensuring proper citation of the original publication. It is recommended to include a DOI link to the article for consultation on the official journal website. Active author participation enhances research impact and dissemination.
    Publication Costs
    Submission and editing of works are free of charge. The journal is fully funded by the Editorial Fund of Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia.
    Submission
    Articles must be submitted using the journal template via OJS. Each author must submit a completed author form and an originality and ethical commitment letter.
