The objective of this paper is to inform every oral health-care worker in their private, public and research practices they should not ignore status of gastro-esophageal reflux disease (gerd) in patients, a type that may involve dental and periodontal health. Indeed dental erosion is the most common sign analyzed and linked to a gastric pathology occurring as stomach acid (a self-induced regurgitation) reaches the mouth through vomiting, anorexia nervosa or bulimia as well as by regurgitation due to a dysfunction or gastric disorders, such as gerd. Therefore, dental erosion easily and effectively may cluster oral micro flora on tooth surface forming a biofilm and involving a serious periodontal disease.
