Artificial Intelligence in Judicial Proceedings in Peru A Management Tool, Not a Decision-Maker
Artificial Intelligence in judicial proceedings has significantly transformed the legal system; its application within the Peruvian judicial system raises regulatory challenges regarding its implementation. A qualitative methodology based on document analysis was employed. Existing regulations, case law, and legal scholarship were reviewed, and specific cases were analyzed to illustrate the role Artificial Intelligence currently plays in judicial proceedings. The results reveal a regulatory gap, as the integration of Artificial Intelligence into judicial proceedings in Peru is in its infancy and lacks clear guidelines compared to international jurisdictions. The conclusions highlight that the current use of Artificial Intelligence does not replace human judgment but rather plays a complementary role for legal practitioners; such use must remain strictly bound by ethical and technical criteria that guarantee respect for the legal certainty of the parties involved.
