Llegamos a nuestros lectores con este nuevo número de la revista Cooperativismo & Desarrollo. El próximo año, 2014, ha sido declarado por la Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas como el “año internacional de la agricultura familiar”. Así, el mundo y diversas instituciones volverán su mirada sobre los pequeños productores agrarios. Se estima que cerca del 70% de los alimentos en el mundo es producido por agricultores familiares, que el 40% de los hogares depende de la agricultura familiar como forma de vida y que, en los países en desarrollo, 2500 millones de personas pertenecen a familias dedicadas a la agricultura.
