This article presents an academic and poetic reflection on the “Naranjatón” experience as an archetype of solidarity-based exchange within the paradigm of the social and solidarity economy. Through the concept of “Affective-Sentipensante Currency” (MAS)—a term blending sentir (feeling) and pensar (thinking)—it analyzes how networks of trust, reciprocity, and the symbolic value of food form the foundations of an economy of life. Furthermore, the text combines theoretical contributions from authors such as Coraggio (2011), Dussel (1998), Fals Borda (1987), and Ostrom (1990) with the popular narratives of the Colombian peasantry, proposing a vision of “global rurality” as an ethical and political horizon. These pages offer empirical evidence of the process (records of practices, testimonials, network mobilization, and logistics) alongside a conceptual framework that engages with social economy theory, experiences with complementary currencies, and the philosophy of liberation. Our aim is not merely to describe, but to demonstrate how an ancestral practice can reshape contemporary exchange mechanisms and how that reconfiguration fosters communicative and financial autonomy in rural territories.
