Systematization of an Educational and Social and Solidarity Economy Experience from Waste Picker Organizations in Colombia
Understanding education as an alternative for the community construction of knowledge, it can be affirmed that there is a very interesting strategy in the relationship between the social and solidarity economy and education; it cannot be denied that education is an essential engine for progress and development of the communities and that should focus on the possible alternatives to achieve a decent life, a good life. In this case, the diplomas of leaders of the organizations of recyclers appear as a space in which knowledge is built from the experiences of the actors and from the active participation of different institutions that aim to promote sustainable development. Training in capacities that allow waste-picker organizations to assume a more active role within the national economy from perspectives such as the circular economy, self-management, leadership, and sustainability becomes a significant strategy for the territories.
