• Purpose and Scope

    Cooperativismo & Desarrollo aims to disseminate knowledge in the social sciences, focusing on territorial development, alternative economies, and other economic models (social, solidarity, and cooperative economies), analyzing human beings and their multiple interactions from multi-, inter-, and transdisciplinary perspectives. The journal contributes to the generation and dissemination of scientific knowledge, recognized in various databases, and is linked to national and international academic and scientific communities.

    Since 2023, Cooperativismo & Desarrollo has been integrated into the process led by the UNESCO Chair in Social and Solidarity Economy, sharing its commitment to the generation and dissemination of knowledge as a global public good, in accordance with UNESCO's mandate. This connection strengthens its academic and international reach through cooperation networks, collaborative publications, and interdisciplinary dialogues focused on territorial development and alternative economies, consolidating the journal as a strategic space for knowledge dissemination and social innovation.


    Trajectory
    Cooperativismo & Desarrollo is a scientific journal that has circulated since 1975 in print format and, since 2016, has been available in electronic format using the Open Journal System (OJS) platform, currently in version 3.3.

    Periodicity
    It is a continuously published journal with advance cuts published quarterly in January, July and October through the OJS platform.
    Open Access Policy
    The journal publishes its content in open access without any embargo period. Likewise, all published works appear under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0), and their use must comply with these licensing conditions. Authors submitting articles for publication must complete the rights transfer form; with this, the text is not only covered under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, but authors also authorize the article to be translated and published in the languages deemed appropriate for its visibility and impact. NOTE: The journal changed its CC BY-NC-ND license to the CC BY license in 2021, with the publication of volume 29, issue 119.
    Ethics
    It adheres to ethical foundations and good editorial practices as established by the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, the third version of a work in progress (published in January 2018) by the Committee on Publication Ethics.
    Publication Costs
    As an Open Access journal, it does not charge authors any fees at any stage of the editorial process and is funded by Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia through Ediciones UCC.
    Preservation
    Cooperativismo & Desarrollo uses LOCKSS and PKP PN to preserve its digital content. LOCKSS allows local backups, and PKP PN provides a stable platform for managing and preserving content, ensuring long-term accessibility.
