Purpose and scope

Rastros Rostros is a biannual scientific journal that publishes original and unpublished articles in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French that present research and theoretical and methodological innovations that contribute to the understanding, advancement, and state of Education and Pedagogy. It is aimed at researchers in basic, middle, and higher education.



"Trajectory"

Rastros y Rostros emerged in 1995 as a biannual journal, attached to the Faculty of Education of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, contributing for more than a decade to topics related to Language Education. In 2016, the journal adopted a digital format.
Open access policy
The journal publishes its content in open access, without any embargo period. Additionally, all published works are under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0), and their use must comply with these licensing conditions. Authors of articles submitted for publication in the journal must complete the rights assignment form, with which the text is not only covered under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0), but they also authorize the article to be translated and published in languages deemed convenient for its visibility and impact. NOTE: The journal changed its CC BY-NC-ND license to CC BY in 2020.

Periodicity
The journal has an annual frequency and will publish special thematic issues at the initiative of the editor, committee members, or external collaborators, and its publication may be made in an extraordinary (additional) issue within the volume.

Main Education Sciences Secondary Education Sciences Discipline General Education (Includes Training, Pedagogy), Special Education (For gifted students and those with learning difficulties).
Preservation
Rastros Rostros uses LOCKSS and PKP PN to preserve its digital content. LOCKSS allows local backups, and PKP PN provides a stable platform for content management and preservation, ensuring its long-term accessibility.

Ethics
The journal and its editorial team will promote, through their policies and actions, ethics in research processes, the proper use of content protected by copyright, and the quality of the works it publishes, so that the different collaborators (editors, authors, and reviewers) interact under principles of academic integrity.

Plagiarism
The possibility of plagiarism is eliminated through the software TURNITIN.

Publication costs
Both the submission of articles and their editing process, if approved, have no cost for the authors, as it is fully funded by Ediciones UCC.
