    Experiencia y bienestar estudiantil

    educación enriquecedora, bienestar y entornos inclusivos

    Las universidades de todo el mundo enfrentan un punto de inflexión decisivo que exige una acción estratégica y sistémica para transformar la experiencia estudiantil y el bienestar. Si bien la educación centrada en el estudiante ha sido respaldada durante décadas por la investigación sobre el aprendizaje y la pedagogía crítica, su urgencia se ha intensificado debido a cambios demográficos, disrupciones tecnológicas y profundas presiones sociales y económicas. Estas fuerzas han redefinido quién accede a la educación superior, cómo se produce el aprendizaje y qué esperan los estudiantes de las universidades. En el contexto de los desafíos pospandemia y la rápida expansión de la inteligencia artificial generativa, las instituciones deben reafirmar su papel como entornos centrados en lo humano que cultivan el sentido de pertenencia, el significado y la resiliencia.

    Este trabajo sostiene que el futuro de la educación superior depende de integrar la experiencia estudiantil y el bienestar en el núcleo de la estrategia y la práctica institucional. En el centro de esta transformación se encuentra el concepto de educación rica en relaciones, entendida como entornos de aprendizaje sostenidos por interacciones significativas entre estudiantes, docentes y personal administrativo. La evidencia demuestra que las relaciones académicas y sociales sólidas fortalecen el desarrollo cognitivo, la salud mental, la permanencia y el florecimiento integral, beneficiando no solo a los estudiantes sino también a los educadores y a la cultura institucional. Sin embargo, las limitaciones estructurales —como la escala institucional, el uso inadecuado de la tecnología y la desalineación de incentivos— suelen erosionar estas conexiones esenciales.

    Para enfrentar estos desafíos, el informe propone ocho prioridades estratégicas: diseñar ecosistemas de aprendizaje ricos en relaciones; integrar pedagogías activas y colaborativas en los currículos; empoderar a los estudiantes como co-creadores de la vida académica e institucional; adoptar un enfoque integral del bienestar que incluya a estudiantes, docentes y personal; fomentar entornos inclusivos y orientados a la equidad; guiar el uso de la inteligencia artificial y la tecnología mediante principios centrados en lo humano; reimaginar el desarrollo profesional como crecimiento relacional; e integrar el sentido de pertenencia y propósito en la cultura institucional.

    En conjunto, estas estrategias delinean un modelo de excelencia institucional relacional y centrado en lo humano. Al alinear misión, políticas y prácticas cotidianas en torno a la experiencia estudiantil y el bienestar, las universidades pueden fortalecer los resultados de aprendizaje, promover la equidad y contribuir de manera más efectiva al bien común.
