A influência da violência e do sexismo em mulheres mexicanas que sofreram violência por parceiro íntimo

A violência praticada pelo parceiro íntimo tem efeitos negativos a curto e longo prazo na comunidade, principalmente nas mulheres. Por isso, é necessário realizar estudos que analisem os motivos pelos quais uma mulher decide procurar ajuda para quebrar o ciclo de violência. Este estudo tem como objetivo explicar o impacto da prevalência e gravidade de diferentes tipos de violência, níveis de sexismo e violência doméstica vivenciados durante a infância nos padrões formais e informais de busca de ajuda de mulheres mexicanas que solicitaram apoio de uma organização social. Participaram desta pesquisa uma amostra não probabilística de 70 mulheres com idade média de 35 anos (DP = 9,90), cujos resultados mostraram a importância de ferimentos leves e graves na decisão de busca por serviços formais. Ao mesmo tempo, os níveis de sexismo e violência sofridos ou observados no seio familiar não impactam nenhum tipo de apoio (formal ou informal). Isso demonstra a importância de analisar essas populações para entender melhor o fenômeno da violência entre parceiros íntimos e como a busca por ajuda funciona de forma diferente.
