The paper from the research project “Approach to the psycho-pedagogic elements in cultural change in a superior education institution with the introduction of icts” shows the cultural changes at a Cuban university as they incorporate icts to their daily lives. We worked from a qualitative methodology interacting with students, teachers and directives, with an intentional sample selection and viewing subjects as the key informers. We established that the change is happening at an architectural level, centered in educational communication and the use of new teaching means. We also saw evidence of the psycho-pedagogical reconceptualization of the educational process, at a distanced values level, through coercive persuasion. Despite the potential of icts to generate participation, their use is not yet being developed as a distanced value, even though some orientations towards this development may be seen. One of the dimensions that must be transformed in this sense are teacher-student and student-student relations in order to foster, based on positive affection, bonds that may make education more effective.
