La influencia de la violencia y el sexismo en mujeres mexicanas que sufrieron violencia de pareja íntima

La violencia de pareja íntima tiene efectos negativos a corto y largo plazo sobre la comunidad, principalmente en las mujeres. Por esto, es necesario realizar estudios que analicen por qué una mujer decide buscar ayuda para poder romper el ciclo de violencia. Este estudio tiene como objetivo explicar el efecto que tiene la prevalencia de los distintos tipos de violencia y su severidad, los niveles de sexismo y la violencia intrafamiliar vivida durante la infancia en los patrones de búsqueda de ayuda formal e informal de mujeres mexicanas que solicitaron apoyo a una organización social. Una muestra no probabilística de 70 mujeres con una edad media de 35 años (DT = 9,90) participaron en esta investigación, los resultados evidenciaron la importancia que tienen las lesiones menores y severas sobre la decisión de acudir a servicios formales. A su vez, los niveles de sexismo y la violencia sufrida u observada dentro de la familia no llegan a impactar en algún tipo de ayuda (formal e informal). Se demuestra la importancia que tiene analizar a este tipo de poblaciones para entender mejor el fenómeno de la violencia de pareja y cómo la búsqueda de ayuda funciona de diferente manera.
