A análise facial e odontológica deve estar integrada a todos os tratamentos dentários, onde a estética e a função devem ser os objetivos principais, uma vez que a face é a base principal do equilíbrio estético, e a odon-tologia deve estar em sintonia com ela. O objetivo deste trabalho é uma revisão da literatura para identificar os fatores que devem ser considerados na análise estética do paciente quando submetido a um tratamento odontológico. A percepção de um rosto equilibrado é possível, havendo um conceito diversificado de beleza facial, e isso varia de acordo com o paciente, o tratamento estético deve ser sempre uma função aliada, para que se possa melhorar a harmonia facial com o sorriso, retribuir o estética positiva significa atender às expec-tativas e dar uma autoimagem positiva. Conclui-se que a percepção de um rosto equilibrado é possível, existe um conceito diversificado de beleza facial, e isso varia de acordo com o paciente.
