Efeito das soluções pigmentantes na cor dos dentes tratados com ortodontia fixa: um estudo in vitro

Introdução: esta pesquisa pertence à linha de pesquisa “Terapêuticas e biomecânicas em ortodontia e ortopedia” realizada em 2013 pelo grupo odontopostgradosucc da Faculdade de Odontologia, sede Bogotá. O objetivo foi avaliar as alterações da cor dental com três bebidas escuras, nos dentes tratados com ortodontia fixa. Métodos: estudo experimental in vitro, com 48 pré-molares humanos, aleatorizados em três grupos de 16 dentes. Depois da cimentação e descimentação de brackets, os dentes foram imersos durante 10 dias a 37°C em Coca-cola®, vinho tinto e café. A cor foi medida antes da cimentação de brackets (T1) e depois da expo-sição às substâncias (T2), com um espectrofotómetro (Vita Easyshade®). A diferença na cor (Δe) foi calculada entre T1 e T2. Aplicou-se o teste t emparelhado e Bonferroni para determinar o significado das diferenças nos parâmetros L, C, h (p < 0,05). Resultados: Percebeu-se uma diferença significativa L, C, h (p = 0,05). As mudanças de cor foram significativas: entre 79,8 (Coca-Cola®) e 7,5 (café) unidades Δe. Conclusões: os dentes apresentaram mudanças na cor do esmalte gravado ao submetê-lo a be-bidas escuras, apresentando maior diferença com Coca-Cola® e menor com café.
